Building your own custom home means that you are going to be able to design your own custom kitchen as well. The kitchen is the cornerstone of most homes, which is why you should spend some serious time thinking about how you want the kitchen to be designed.

Add Some Extra Refrigeration

How many times has your refrigerator been a little too full? Is your fridge generally really full? If so, you may want to add some extra refrigeration into your kitchen design. One of the most classic examples of extra refrigeration is a beverage fridge, which allows you to store all your drinks in one place.

That is not the only extra type of refrigeration you could add to your home, though. You could add a meat fridge near your food prepping area or a produce fridge if your meals tend to favor fruits and veggies over meat. You could add in an extra freezer as well.

The extra refrigeration can help you keep things organized and make your regular fridge a little less crowded.

Hide Those Appliances

Your appliances don't have to be the focal point of your kitchen if you don't want them to be. If you really like a sleek look, you can purchase appliances that are designed to blend in. You can purchase a refrigerator that is designed to blend in with your cabinetry. You can purchase an induction stove, which blends in more.

You can conceal a wide variety of small appliances, such as blenders and toasters, inside of cupboards with the right kitchen design.

You can even make your pantry doors look like regular cabinet doors so your pantry doesn't take away from the overall design flow of your kitchen.

Consider Going High Tech

Think about what type of technology features you want to add to your kitchen. For example, if you add a secondary sink for your food preparation area, how about making that sink automatic so it is easy to wash your hands and to wash produce? Do you want a fridge where you can leave digital notes? Consider going with a Bluetooth and/or wireless-enabled fridge. There are lots of high-tech gadgets you can add to your kitchen design. The key is to choose ones that will add to your life.

When you design your dream kitchen in your custom home, think carefully about what extra appliances and technology you want to add to your kitchen, and how you want to incorporate those pieces. Do you want them to stand out or blend in? This is your dream kitchen, so think carefully about how you want it to look.
